El Higueral Golf Club

El Higueral Golf is located in the beautiful Benahavis area of the Costa del Sol just 10 minutes drive from the famous Puerto Banus Marina in Marbella.

It has only been opened for six years and is fast gaining popularity as one the Costa del Sol`s finest nine-hole courses. And although nine holes are in play at the moment, there are many golf resorts along the coast would be very pleased to have some of the holes on offer at El Higueral.

The course is a Par 36 and very well designed with an interesting layout, each hole different and offering something unique to the player. It nestles perfectly on the gentle slopes of the foothills in Benahavis.

The course was designed by Roderick Segar who has put together a course which maximises your enjoyment each time you play a round, it’s unique features and views will surely surprise you on your first visit.

Beautifully manicured greens and elegantly styled lakes ensure a memorable golfing experience and one you will you’ll want to repeat time and time again.

Hole one is short par 3, be aware of the pin position as the lake will come into play. Don’t over hit the tee short as there is a sharp drop off area at the back of the green.

The signature hole of the course must surely be the impressive Par 5 – 4th. A downhill dogleg right, the fairway sweeps majestically down onto one of the most picturesque green setting on the coast. Get your tee shot right and your ball will roll way down the fairway and give you the possibility of reaching the green in two. The large green is guarded by bunkers on the left and right with the lake as a stunning backdrop. The course is walkable although a buggy is recommended if you plan to play 18 holes.

El Higueral offers great value golf and is a pleasure to play. A further nine holes are on the drawing boards and eagerly awaited by local golfers. At the moment there is only a temporary pro shop and caddies masters office with a small bar by the side of the first hole.
