Guadalmina Golf Club on the Costa del Sol

The Guadalmina Golf Club consists of two fine courses,  the Sur (the South) and the Norte (the North).

The resort is home to the prestigious Guadalmina Golf Club hotel & Golf Resort, a stunning hotel located overlooking the golf course with its dining terraces overlooking the Mediterranean sea, the South course is arguably one of the best 18 holes of golf on the Costa del Sol.

The southern course is generally considered to be the better of the two courses although it can be rather rough in some places and so higher handicappers may enjoy the course a bit more.  The south course is without a doubt one of the nicest and most desirable courses in the entire coast.  You may come out of pocket for a few Euros if you want to play the south course but you will be glad that you did.

There is nothing like having the beach and Mediterranean sea as your close scenic backdrop and a perfect destination if you are planing to book golf packages on the Costa del Sol.

The north course is the shorter of the two courses and does not have as many water obstacles.  The north course incorporates a more hilly terrain but is easier than the south course and meanders around  the up market Guadalmina Urbanisation. It utilises well placed bunkers  and other complex features to make it a more challenging course for its players. If you are not keen in playing golf close proximity private properties and apartments then maybe the north course is not for you.

The design and layout of this course conspire to create an interesting golfing experience due to the variety of features of the layout of the holes. While the north course tends to have straighter fairways, the south course plays on the natural terrain elements to produce a more challenging experience for the golfer.

Guadalmina Golf is a well established and popular club  with  an extensive membership built up over the years. So, check in advance for availability when booking your golf holiday specially if you plan to play the ever popular South course.
